Italy’s economic turnover up 0.1% in June, volume falls
Italy’s seasonally adjusted turnover index for the overall economy showed in June 2024, experienced a modest increase of 0.1 per cent in value but a decline of 0.7 per cent in volume month-on-month.
The domestic market also recorded a fall of 1.0 per cent in value and 1.6 per cent in volume, while the non-domestic market saw gains of 2.2 per cent in value and 1.0 per cent in volume.
For the second quarter of 2024, industry turnover fell by 1.1 per cent in both value and volume compared to the previous quarter. In contrast, turnover in the services sector rose by 0.3 per cent in value but remained unchanged in volume.
Year-on-year comparisons for June 2024 reveal a contraction in the industry turnover index, with a 3.7 per cent decrease in value and a 3.3 per cent drop in volume.
Domestic market turnover decreased by 6.0 per cent in value and 5.6 per cent in volume, while the non-domestic market saw a slight increase of 0.6 per cent in value and 0.8 per cent in volume. In services, turnover fell by 1.5 per cent in value and 2.6 per cent in volume compared to June 2023.
