Italy reported on Friday a 0.2 per cent increase in employment rates during July 2024 compared to the previous month, according to the National Institute of Statistics. Overall, the employment rate went up to 62.3 per cent.
Meanwhile, the country’s unemployment rates fell to 6.5 per cent during July, markig a decline of 0.4 percentage points.
The youth unemployment rate dropped to 20.8 per cent.
Moreover, quarterly data showed a 0.3 per cent increase in employment from May to July 2024 and a 4.5 per cent decrease in unemployment.
Compared to July 2023, employment grew by 2.1 per cent, with a corresponding drop in unemployment of 16.7 per cent.
