Italy’s Monte dei Paschi seeks sale of French unit MP Banque

Italian state-owned bank Monte dei Paschi di Siena (BMPS.MI) is in discussions to sell its French subsidiary, MP Banque, CEO Luigi Lovaglio announced during a post-results analyst call on Tuesday.

The bank reported a 29.3 million euro charge in the second quarter in anticipation of the sale.
