Jumia Egypt to launch Black Friday Festival this month

The leading online retailer, Jumia Egypt announced it will launch the Black Friday festival soon in November. The website will offer major discounts on all products for 12 days in a row instead of one day the year before.

Jumia users will have access to discounts up to 70 percent on goods including electronics, home appliances, fashion and clothing, sports equipment, and kids’ items.

Last year, Jumia Egypt made huge sales in the very first hours of its Black Friday event. It sold about 33,000 items in different categories before most of the products sold out.

Hesham Safwat, CEO of Jumia Egypt, said that his company is looking to please its customers offering the best deals for a longer period of time this year so that nobody would miss the chance to get high quality items for the least prices.

To get ready for Black Friday festival, Jumia recommends that users should previously send wanted items to their shopping carts and Jumia staff will send them to whatever address they want. Users should also stay tuned to Jumia’s social media pages to get informed with the latest deals timely.

Preparing for this festival, Jumia Egypt gave training to 250 vendors to be able to serve the website’s users during the Black Friday festival in the most efficient way.

Black Friday is the day following Thanksgiving Day in the United States (the fourth Thursday of November). Since 1932, it has been regarded as the beginning of the Christmas shopping season in the U.S., and most major retailers open very early (and more recently during overnight hours) and offer promotional sales.
