Matrouh receives EGP 17.3b for 23/24 development – minister
Matrouh Governorate will receive EGP 17.3 billion in public investments for the 2023–2024 fiscal year, a significant 30 per cent increase from the previous year’s plan, Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Hala El Said, announced on Wednesday.
The allocated funds will support 216 development projects across various sectors, with 49 per cent of the investment directed towards the electricity sector, amounting to EGP 8.5 billion.
The housing sector will receive EGP 3.6 billion (21 per cent), while EGP 2.6 billion (15 per cent) will be invested in transport infrastructure.
Additional allocations include EGP 550 million for higher education (3 per cent) and EGP 165 million for healthcare (1 per cent). The remaining EGP 1.9 billion (11 per cent) will support other sectors within the governorate.
