Mexico’s July CPI 1.05% up MoM

Mexico’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) recorded a 1.05 per cent increase in July, compared to a previous month, the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) reported on Thursday. With this result, the annual general inflation now stands at 5.57 per cent.

In the same month of 2023, the monthly inflation was 0.48 per cent and the annual inflation was 4.79 percent.

In July 2024, the underlying price index rose by 0.32 per cent monthly and 4.05 per cent annually. Non-core prices increased by 3.29 per cent month-on-month and 10.36 per cent year-on-year.

Within the core index, goods prices went up by 0.12 per cent and services by 0.55 per cent. In the non-core index, agricultural product prices rose by 5.00 per cent and energy prices, including government-approved tariffs, by 1.69 per cent.
