Morgan Stanley to open new Paris office, adding 100 jobs

Morgan Stanley will open a new European office in Paris, creating an additional 100 jobs, according to France’s Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire, cited by Reuters on Sunday.

This announcement comes as France prepares to host the annual Choose France event, aimed at attracting foreign businesses and investors. In addition, German aviation firm Lilium and Swiss-based firm KL1 have announced a combined investment of 700 million euros ($753.8 million), potentially creating over 1,000 jobs.

These investments come at a time when France, the second-largest economy in the euro zone, is grappling with a budget deficit and a modest growth rate of 0.2 per cent in the first quarter.

Le Maire emphasised the need for a capital markets union to boost investments in new sectors like renewable energy and artificial intelligence in order to compete with China and the United States.
