About 40 data updating employees at National bank of Egypt protested in front of the Bank’s headquarter in Kornish El-Nile, demanding to be fully appointed at the Bank.
Protestors cried out “down with Tarek Amer”, head of NBE, and warned to hold an open end sit-in in front of NBE’s headquarter if their demands are not responded.
There were verbal clashes between protestors and NBE’s security officers as the latter wanted to persuade the first to end their sit-in. Police officers also failed to disperse the demonstrators.
Employees, whose contract is terminated after working at NBE for 2 years, said that Tarek Amer, head of NBE, had ignored three communications from the Cabinet demanding NBE to return these employees.
