NU, Zewail City to Share 6th of October Building

The Ministerial Committee formed by the cabinet to discuss the issue of Nile University (NU) stated that NU will be allowed to use buildings and laboratories located in the 6^th of October city. NU will pay fees for having the right to use the buildings until being turned in to a public university.

The Committee also noted that Zewail City for Science and Technology will be entitled to use the buildings included under a decree issued by the Cabinet for one year. Zewail City will pay usage fees until declaring a judgement in 3 months.

The Committee’s investigations revealed that in 2001 a plot has been allocated to establishing a university for technological education as per a suggestion by the Minister of Communications and Information Technology. In 2006 a presidential decree approved the establishment of NU.

On the other hand, Prime Minister has issued a decision demanding forming the Board of Trustees at Zewail City at the beginning of June 2011. According to the 27^th of last October declaration, Prime Minister granted Zewail City the right to use the buildings uder administrative supervision of the Egyptian Education Development Fund (EEDF), in addition to providing the licenses required for the implementation.
