Egypt’s real estate developer firm Orientals for Urban Development (OUD) says it is planning to start executing its commercial mall Sidewalk in Fifth Settlement district in New Cairo within the final quarter of 2020.
Established in 2000 by presidential decree No. 191, New Cairo city is located on the southeastern edge of Cairo Governorate, 25km (15.5 miles) from Maadi.
Sidewalk Mall, the first fully-integrated commercial centre in New Cairo, is with total investments worth 350 million Egyptian pounds ($19.7 million), said OUD’s chairman Asser Hamdy on Tuesday.
“The commercial mall will be carried out in partnership with KVRD (Egyptian real estate developer firm) on a total space of 9,000 square metres and on a built-up area of 7,000 square metres,” Hamdy further added.
The Egyptian official said that KVRD is responsible for marketing Sidewalk and executing the consulting works, while the designs were implemented by a global Lebanon consulting office.
“The mall will be completely promoted within the middle of 2019,” he referred.
