Over 15,000 visit Creators of Egypt exhibit in Italy’s Vicenza

The Creators of Eternal Egypt: Scribes, Artisans, and Laborers in the Service of the Pharaoh’s exhibition has attracted over 15,000 visitors in Italy’s northern city of Vicenza.

The event has been described by a number of art critics as one of the most important shows on ancient Egypt ever organized at an international level.

A total of 180 original pieces display in the show, including 160 from the permanent collection of Turin’s Egyptian Museum and 20 from the Louvre in Paris.

The exhibition had a knock-on effect in all the city’s museums, which amid a recovery of tourism following two years of the pandemic saw their entrances double to over 20,000, said Vicenza town council.

Organised in collaboration with the Egyptian Museum of Turin, the show attracted over 15,000 visitors in the 17 days it was open.

Starting from 22 of December to 8 January, there were 15,551 tickets paid for with a resulting 146,314 in revenue.
