The families of those killed and injured in floods after two days of heavy rain in Red Sea governorate will be compensated, the governor, Ahmed Abdalla, said on Friday.
The families of those killed in the heavy rains will receive EGP 50,000 and the families of those injured will receive EGP10,000, the Al-Ahram Arabic website reported.
The damages will be assessed and those displaced by the flooding will be offered an alternative place to stay.
Seven people were killed and 23 others injured in the town of Ras Gharib in the governorate.
A total of fifteen people have been killed and 47 others injured as a result of torrential rain and flooding in Egypt since Thursday.
