Russian stocks rises on Wednesday

Russia’s stock market opened higher on Wednesday.  By 10:00 a.m. Moscow time (07:00 a.m. GMT), the MOEX Index was up 0.34 per cent at 2,894.3 points, and the RTS Index increased by 0.34  per cent to 984 points.

The yuan exchange rate also strengthened against the rouble, reaching 12.094 roubles, up 1.55 from the previous close.

By 10:35 a.m. Moscow time (07:35 a.m. GMT), the MOEX Index climbed above 2,900 points for the first time since August 2, reaching 2,903.69 points, a rise of 0.66  per cent.

The RTS Index was also up 0.66 per cent at 987.69 points. Meanwhile, the yuan exchange rate improved slightly to 12.0815 roubles, up by 0.3 kopecks.
