South Africa’s Sasol reported a 34 per cent decline in half-year revenues on Monday, mainly attributed to weaker oil and petrochemical prices as well as higher costs, Reuters reported.
Sasol, the largest producer of fuels and chemicals from coal and gas globally, stated that its headline earnings per share (HEPS), the predominant profit metric in South Africa, stood at 20.37 rand ($1.06) for the six months ending December 31, down from 30.90 rand during the same period in 2022.
The company announced an interim dividend of 2 rand per share, a decrease from the previous dividend of 7 rand.
