S. Arabia to strengthen industrial ties with Chile, lithium in focus

Saudi Arabia aims to strengthen cooperation with Chile in the industrial and mining sectors, with a particular focus on lithium production and phosphate fertiliser exports.

Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar bin Ibrahim Alkhorayef discussed these priorities in meetings with Chilean officials, including Mining Minister Aurora Williams; Finance Minister Mario Marcel; and Economy, Development, and Tourism Minister Nicolas Grau Veloso.

Alkhorayef emphasised Saudi Arabia’s goal to lead in electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing and highlighted the National Industrial Strategy (NIS) and the comprehensive mining strategy as key elements in this effort.
