South Korea’s exports in the first 20 days of August rose by 18.5 per cent to $33.12 billion, while imports increased by 10.1 per cent to $34.59 billion, according to the Trade Statistics on Wednesday.
Semiconductor exports led the charge, soaring 42.5 per cent to $6.73 billion. Oil product shipments also rose significantly, increasing 11.7 per cent to $2.93 billion, according to Xinhua
Steel products and automobiles recorded single-digit growth, reaching $2.29 billion and $2.28 billion, respectively. Exports of ships, auto parts, and computers saw double-digit increases, Xinhua added.
