Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said on Tuesday that Africa needs $200 billion annually to reach sustainable development goals.
The president’s announcements came during the opening session of the AfDB annual meetings 2023.
al-Sisi also said that the African continent needs $144 billion to heal from the COVID-19 crisis, as well as $108 billion to enhance the infrastructure.
The dire situation on the continent is a result of the COVID-19 crisis as well as the Russian invasion of Ukraine that followed the pandemic.
