President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi announced on Sunday during Africa Health ExCon an initiative to provide 30 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine to the African countries in coordination with the African Union.
“The youth in Africa represent around 60 to 65 percent and it can be more than this, so the future is in Africa,” al-Sisi noted during the conference.
There are important opportunities in four areas at Africa, which is the strengthening of bodies and institutions that deal with public health issues in the African countries, Dr. Ahmed Oma, director of the African Agency for Disease Control and Epidemiology, said.
In addition to train all the staff working in the health sector and put everyone in their right place to have a clear vision in dealing with any health crisis.
Moreover, it is very significant to strength the capabilities of African countries especially in medical manufacturing, Oma explained. “We need to build the infrastructure and to strengthen partnerships and work together among countries,” he added.
