Sisi, Jordan’s Abdullah, UN secretary-general discuss regional developments
Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi met on Tuesday with King Abdullah of Jordan, where they discussed the latest regional developments on the sidelines of the 73rd meeting of the United National General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, the Egyptian presidency announced.
According to a statement by the Egyptian presidency, the two leaders also discussed boosting Egyptian-Jordanian bilateral relations.
Sisi and Abdullah also discussed the latest developments in the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, reaffirming their total support for an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Earlier in the day, President Sisi met with UN Secretary-General António Guterres, where they discussed the developments in Syria, Libya and Yemen as well as the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.
Guterres expressed his appreciation for Egypt’s efforts in the United Nations as well as its support to the international organisation’s efforts in achieving peace and stability worldwide.
