Sisi appoints new ambassadors in annual diplomatic reshuffle
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi ratified on Thursday the appointment of new ambassadors to Canada, Sudan, Israel, Ethiopia and the UK as part of the annual diplomatic reshuffle by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, state news agency MENA said.
Egypt’s foreign ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid was named the new ambassador to Canada.
Khaled Azmy was appointed ambassador to Israel, while Osama Mohamed Abdel-Khalek was named ambassador to Ethiopia.
Tarek Hamad Adel was appointed the country’s envoy to the UK and Northern Ireland and Hossam El-Din Kassem was appointed Egypt’s ambassador to Sudan.
The reshuffle included the appointment of new ambassadors to the UAE, Jordan, Czech Republic, and India.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has extended the diplomatic mission for Egypt’s ambassadors to the France and the United States.
