President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi met this morning in Berlin with Frank Steinmeier president of the Federal Republic of Germany, according to the presidential spokesman Bassam Rady.
Rady noted Egypt’s aspiration to deepen and strengthen the economic and commercial levels, by maximising the volume of German investments in Egypt.
This plan came in light of that Germany is one of Egypt’s most important partners within the European continent, al-Sisi said, adding that there is a great opportunity to be present in the Egyptian market to benefit from modern infrastructure and improve the business performance.
From his side, Steinmeier also praised the national development projects being implemented, stressing Germany’s keenness to support Egypt’s development efforts in all fields through exchanging experiences and joint investment.
The meeting dealt with a number of regional and international issues of common concern, especially the developments of the Ukrainian crisis, the Libyan and Yemeni crises, as well as the Palestinian issue.
Moreover, president Steinmeier appreciated Egypt’s pivotal role in consolidating stability in the Middle East and Africa, which helps to fill the void that allowed terrorist groups to expand and spread.
al-Sisi has arrived to Berlin on Sunday upon an invitation of German consultant Olaf Scholz to participate in the Petersberg Climate Dialogue on July 18, under the co-chairmanship of Egypt and Germany.
