The Spanish government approved on Monday nearly 300 renewable energy projects with a total capacity exceeding 28 gigawatts. This initiative is set to advance Spain’s ambitious green energy objectives.
The projects, representing a combined investment of over 17 billion euros ($18.4 billion), primarily consist of photovoltaic power plants, along with 43 wind farms and one hydropower facility, according to the Energy Ministry.
Utilising its sunny landscapes, windy terrains, and swift rivers, Spain aims to increase the share of electricity generated from renewable sources to 81 per cent by 2030, up from the current 50 per cent.
