Taiwan’s Producer Price Index (PPI) dropped 0.80 per cent in September 2024 compared to the previous month. Year-on-year, the PPI in September 2024 decreased 0.33 per cent.
This decline was mainly driven by lower indices for petroleum and coal products, food products, and electronic parts and components, which fell by 13.66 per cent, 4.18 per cent, and 0.68 per cent, respectively.
However, farm products, electricity supply, electrical equipment and computers, and electronic and optical products saw increases of 10.04 per cent, 5.80 per cent, 5.63 per cent, and 12.52 per cent, respectively, partially offsetting the overall decrease.
