Telecom Egypt to bring fibre-optic broadband to 2 mln homes by 2020
Telecom Egypt plans to take its fibre-optic network into about 2 million homes by 2020, its senior vice president Mohamed Shamroukh said on Monday.
Since 2015, the company has invested more than $3 billion to develop its infrastructure and offer to spearhead Egypt’s shift to ultrafast networks, Shamroukh said at the 11th edition of Fibre to the Home (FTTH) Council MENA Conference in Cairo.
It also aims to cover more areas in the coming two years, he added.
