French oil company Total announced on Tuesday that, along with its partners BP and ENI, it had made a new gas discovery at a well off the coast of Egypt.
Total said the new discovery had been made at the Bashrush well on the North El Hammad licence, located eleven kilometres (6.8 miles) off the Egyptian coast.
“It is estimated that future deliverability per well will be up to 100 million standard cubic feet per day, along with up to 800 barrels of condensate per day,” Total statement said.
ENI and BP both hold 37.5 percent stakes in the North El Hammad licence, while Total has a 25 percent stake.
