Toyota Motor Corp. reported on Thursday a 0.8 per cent decrease in global production for October, with 893,164 units produced, down from the previous year. Overseas production also dropped by 4.9 per cent to 587,105 units.
However, domestic production in Japan increased 8.3 per cent to 306,059 units, recovering from a partial production halt in the previous year caused by a supplier accident, as per the automaker’s data.
Despite the production decline, Toyota’s global sales rose 1.4 per cent to a record high of 903,103 units in October. Domestic sales climbed 7.1 per cent and overseas sales also saw a slight increase of 0.4 per cent to a record 759,555 units.
