Turkey’s Koç Holding eyes Egypt expansion

Turkish industrial conglomerate Koç Holding, the founder of domestic appliance and consumer electronics brand Beko, is keen to boost its investments in Egypt in the coming period.

Egyptian Minister of Investment Dalia Khorshed has met Friday with officials in Koç Holding on the sidelines of World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

Khorshed said the Turkish conglomerate comprises 100,000 employees, operating in European and Asian markets, in the financial, banking, durable goods, food, energy, tourism, construction, international trade, information technologies, automotive, and defence sectors.

The Egyptian minister has also held a number of meetings in Davos with officials in UAE Al-Futtaim Group, Citibank, Credit Suisse, and Lazard Group, who all expressed interest in taking part in Egypt’s promotional campaigns to attract new investments.
