U.S. private sector companies added 324,000 new jobs, higher than expected in July, as businesses hired more workers to keep up with rising demand for services such as travel, fine dining and recreation, ADP reported on Wednesday.
“The economy is doing better than expected and a healthy labour market continues to support household spending,” according to Nela Richardson, chief economist at ADP.
Service industries employment jumped by 303,000 jobs per month as the economy continued to shift from being commodity-oriented in the early days of the COVID pandemic.
