Qatar’s Ooredoo names new CEO for Algeria

Ooredoo, the international telecom firm appointed a new CEO for Algeria on Tuesday, according to its statement on Wednesday.

Roni Tohme, the new CEO, has a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Business Administration from the American University of Beirut (AUB) and a Master’s degree in Finance and Business Management from Walden University in the U.S.

Tohme also has more than 21 years of experience in the sector of telecoms and finance. He worked in various well-known companies across Africa and Asia like Areeba, Africell, MTN, Airtel, and Axiata Group.

He has been Ooredoo Algeria’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO), shaping a reliable and highly efficient finance department.

He also carried out cost-efficiency programmes which helped increase the company’s profitability.

Worth mentioning that Ooredoo recorded 1.79 billion Qatari riyals in net profits to the shareholders during the first half (H1) of 2023.
