United Arab of Emirates (UAE) investments in Egypt increased by 300.8 percent during the period 2021/2022, according to the latest figures released by Egypt’s Central Agency for public mobilization and statistics (CAPMAS).
Total UAE investments in Egypt recorded $5.7 billion during 2021/2022 up from $1.4 billion in 2020/2021 period, showed official figures.
Trade exchange between the two countries hiked by 2.5 percent equating $4.9 billion in 2022 compared to $4.8 billion in 2021, statement explained.
Total Egyptian exports to UAE equated $1.9 billion during 2022 compared to $1.8 billion in 2021. Coming on the top pearls, precious stones and jewelry amounting $840.5 million.
Meanwhile Egyptian imports from UAE decreased by 2.3 percent. Total imports amounted $2.9 billion in 2021 down from $3 billion in 2022. The most significant commodities imported from UAE are fuel, mineral oil and their distillation products equating $810.2 million.
