UN chief says forces must join to end nightmare for civilians in Gaza
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres reiterated his appeal on Sunday for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire, adding “we must join forces to end this nightmare for the people of Gaza, Israel and all those affected around the world.”
Guterres remarks came during his official visit to Nepal, where he called again for the protection of all civilians in Gaza, emphasizing his consistent calls for strict compliance with international humanitarian law.
After weeks of heavy bombardment of Gaza, which the Palestinian health ministry said has claimed over 8,000 lives, the Israeli army said “stage two” of the war started with ground incursions since late Friday.
"We must join forces to end this nightmare for the people of Gaza, Israel and all those affected around the world.”
