URGENT: Egypt welcomes Armenia-Azerbaijan peace agreement

Egypt has welcomed the successful conclusion of peace negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, expressing optimism that the agreement will bring lasting stability to the South Caucasus.

In a statement on Tuesday, Egypt’s Foreign Ministry praised the efforts of both nations in reaching the accord, describing it as the result of years of diplomatic engagement. The ministry also urged Armenia and Azerbaijan to formalise the deal at the earliest possible opportunity to solidify peace in the region.
