On Monday, the US embassy in Cairo issued a cautionary message to American citizens in Egypt. The message elaborated that the Egyptian security forces in Sinai put on alert, as approaching the holiday of El Edha Feast (an Islamic feast), from 25 to 29 October.
The embassy, in its message, told US citizens that the state of alert, which includes South Sinai and Sharm Al Sheikh, is due to the possibility of terrorist attacks in reply to the Israeli airstrike on Gaza.
The message added that, in the light of targeting tourists and touristic attractions in Sinai, all the American citizens traveling to Sharm Al Sheikh during this period have to avoid insecure places, like bazaars, shopping malls, night clubs and restaurants. It also calls on them to avoid crowded places, or places where protests erupt, and to inform any suspect. The embassy urges the American citizens in Egypt to follow up the news.
