US Imports of Egypt’s Furnishings up 5% at end-April

Egypt’s exports of furnishings to the USA recorded 420 million Egyptian pounds (US$58.7 million) during period from January-April 2014, representing a 5% year-on-year growth.

According to sources from Foreign Trade Sector of the Egyptian cabinet, Egyptian overall exports of furnishings registered EGP 1.77 billion from January-April 2014, 7% up from the same period a year earlier which stood at EGP 1.65 billion.

Hence, the US markets capture the lion’s share of the Egyptian furnishings exports; whereas Germany ranked second with imports totalling EGP 165 million. The UK market comes in the third position, receiving Egyptian exports of furnishings worth EGP 155 million.
