US Secretary of State John Kerry will pay a brief visit to Egypt tomorrow morning to meet with the newly-elected President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. DPA reported.
The visit is the first by a high-profile American official since Sisi takes office as new Egyptian president.
Sources from Cairo Airport told DPA that Kerry will arrive on a private jet at 10:00 a.m. (07:00 GMT) on Sunday, to meet with the Egyptian president. The sources further said the American official will stay in Cairo for 3 hours only.
Kerry’s visit is expected to tackle the future of ties between the two countries alongside with Mideast hot topics, notably the Iraqi and Syrian crises as well as the unstable situation in Libya.
US Obama administration has dispatched Sec. of State Kerry to the Middle East to meet with a number of foreign ministers and leaders in the region notably to discuss the Iraqi crisis and the civil war in Syria.
