US Latina contribution to GDP reaches $1.3t

Latina women’s economic output in the US has reached $1.3 trillion in 2021, up from $661 billion in 2010, surpassing the GDP of Florida and making it larger than the individual economies of all but three states.

Latina refers to women of Latin American descent living in the United States.

According to the latest US Latina GDP report, from 2010 to 2021, the Latina GDP grew by 51.1 per cent, reflecting a growth rate 2.7 times faster than that of the Non-Hispanic GDP. This remarkable expansion highlights the increasingly vital role Latinas play in the broader US economy.

Notably, the substantial growth in Latina GDP is largely driven by significant gains in educational attainment and labour force participation. These factors contribute to the impressive economic impact and ongoing expansion of the Latina segment within the US economy.
