Vodafone India reported 15% organic growth in revenue in the quarter ended December 31, the company’s UK-based parent said in a quarterly financial result statement. India revenue stood at 1.1 pound sterling, aided by some foreign exchange conversion rate.
Mobile Internet revenue rose a whopping 70% after more customers started to use data services. The company said it now has 59 million data customers of which 16.6 million are using high speed 3G data.
Under project spring, that was a fund released for data and 3G coverage, Vodafone India deployed 5,500 new telecom airwave emission sites, or towers, during the quarter, the statement said.
