Vodafone Egypt has paid 1.5 billion Egyptian pounds ($168.92 million) for the 4G mobile licence on October 15 an official told Reuters on Monday.
Vodafone Egypt agreed to pay $335 million for the licence on Sunday.
Vodafone Egypt will be paying the remaining fees within days in coordination with the UK parent company, the official added.
The official, who declined to be identified, further said Vodafone Egypt would pay half of the fee for its 4G mobile licence in dollars.
