Egypt is to start carry out the first phase of Cairo’s underground fourth line project this September, chairman of the National Authority for Tunnels (NAT) announced Tuesday.
Speaking to Amwal Al Ghad on Tuesday, Ismail El-Nagdy – NAT’s chairman – said the government and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) had reached a final technical agreement, upon which JICA is to contribute around 50 percent to the finance the first phase.
Through 2 phases, Cairo Metro Line 4 is planned to run from Haram District reaching the New Cairo district connecting Greater Cairo from West to East.
Phase 1 of the project will run from El-Malek El-Saleh Station (Interchange with Line 1) to the October-Oasis Highway Station with a total length of 18 km, passing through Giza Railway Station (Interchange with Line 2).
