Gold prices in Egypt hike by EGP 7 per gram, 21-carat gold at 872
Gold prices in Egypt today jumped by 7 Egyptian pounds ($0.44) per gram as global gold prices continue increasing.
Spot gold was little changed at $1,956.81 per ounce. Prices hit an all-time of $1,980.57 on Tuesday before retreating after investors booked profits and the dollar regained some ground.
Ehab Wasfy, deputy head of the gold division at the Cairo Chamber of Commerce told Amwal Al Ghad on Wednesday that the price of 21-carat gold, the most popular in the local market, rose to around 872 Egyptian pounds
The 18-carat gold also inched higher to around 747.4 pounds, Wasfy said.
