Egypt’s stock exchange ends 1.61% higher on Sunday
Egypt’s stock exchange (EGX) rose on Sunday, having its benchmark EGX 30 index closed 1.61 percent higher to 11,120 points.
The EGX 70 EWI index of the leading smaller and mid cap enterprises (SME) also hiked 1.74 percent to 1,679 points, while the fixed-weighted index, EGX 30 Capped added 1.65 percent to 13,103 points. The all-embracing index, EGX 100 EWI was up by 1.78 percent to 2,564 points. Meanwhile, the equal weights index, EGX 50 inched 1.94 percent higher to 1,973 points.

Total market capitalisation posted gains worth 7.7 billion Egyptian pounds ($483.3 million) at the end of Sunday’s trade backed by local investors’ buying appetite.

Also on Sunday, the trading value hit around 1.7 billion pounds, while the trading volume has neared 581 million securities executed over 46,000 transactions
