South Korea pumps $570 mln into181 projects in Egypt
South Korea has invested a total of $570 million in 181 projects in Egypt, covering industry, services, construction, communications and information technology, tourism, and agriculture sectors, according to Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry, Nevine Gamea.
Gamea met with the newly appointed South Korean Ambassador to Cairo, Hong Jin-wook, to explore the possible means for strengthening economic relations between the two countries.
Bilateral trade between Egypt and South Korea reached $1.5 billion in 2019, the minister added.
Goods exchanged between the two countries included engineering products, electronics, furniture, ready-made garments, chemical products, fertilisers, and medical industries, Gamea added in a statement on Tuesday.
