Egypt’s PM launches new initiative for smart green projects nationwide
Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly issued a decision on Tuesday to launch a national initiative for smart green projects across the country.
These projects will be under the supervision of the Ministry of Planning in order to emphasise Egypt’s seriousness in dealing with the environmental dimension and climate change.
Madbouly held a meeting to review the main axes of the Presidential Initiative for afforestation” 100 million trees”, in preparation for its launch during the coming period.
The prime minister noted the importance of this initiative, which is under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
He pointed out that the initiative will begin with an expanded afforestation campaign on both sides of highways. The government also aims to increase the green lung in urban cities.
