A jersey worn by basketball legend, Michael Jordan, during the 1992 Summer Olympics, was sold for $3.03 million in an auction hosted by Goldin.
Jordan was in the U.S. basketball team that competed in the Olympics for the first time in 1992, the team also included Larry Bird, and Magic Johnson.
One of the most popular auctioned jerseys was the one Jordan wore in the semi-final game against Lithuania, and it was the center of attention in an auction that featured signed jerseys from all twelve players of the team.
The proceeds of the Jordan collection will be donated to a Nairobi, Kenya, facility designed to improve the health of mothers and children, said Julien’s Gallery Director, Kody Frederick.
