Turkey Feels Anxiety Over Deaths In Protests In Egypt

Turkey has expressed its concern over the loss of lives during the protests between security forces and protestors on the second year of January 25 Revolution and an Egyptian court’s verdict which gave death sentences to 21 people in Port Said incidents.

Releasing a written statement Sunday, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that loss of lives during the recent protests between security forces and protesters aroused “deep sadness and anxiety”.

We wish God’s mercy upon those who lost their lives and a speedy recovery to those wounded, the statement said.

It said that in this critical period which Egypt was facing, acting in accordance with reconciliation, peace and dialogue was of utmost importance.

“Turkey is determined to continue to be in solidarity with the friendly and brotherly Egypt in its democratization process,” it said.
