China offers co-operation on Estonia subsea cable probe

China is prepared to collaborate in the investigation of a Chinese vessel suspected of damaging subsea telecommunications cables in Estonia, Reuters reported on Wednesday, citing the Foreign Ministry.

According to Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning, Chinese authorities are already examining the case in line with their domestic laws. This offer stands in contrast to claims from Estonia’s state prosecutor, who alleges China has not responded to a six-month-old request for assistance in the probe.
