Egypt’s PM prioritises Borg El Arab airport upgrade

Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly on Monday directed the Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh El-Hefny to prioritise the development of Borg El Arab Airport due to increasing passenger traffic.

The prime minister also called for enhanced promotion of El Alamein Airport to capitalise on the growing popularity of the new El Alamein City.

The government is also committed to improving the overall passenger experience by implementing a system to promptly address complaints about airport services.

The Minister of Civil Aviation outlined ambitious plans to increase the capacity of Egyptian airports. The target is to increase overall capacity of Egyptian airports to 72.2 million passengers annually by the end of 2025, up from 66.27 million in December 2023, and increase it to 109.20 million passengers per year by 2030.

These developments signal a significant investment in Egypt’s aviation sector, aiming to bolster the country’s tourism industry and facilitate economic growth.
