The Chinese Ministry of Finance (MOF) has announced on Thursday the allocation of 378 million yuan ($53 million) to support flood relief efforts in multiple provinces across the country.
The funds, jointly provided by the MOF and the Ministry of Emergency Management (MEM), will be directed towards disaster-stricken regions including Hebei, Liaoning, Jilin, Zhejiang, Fujian, Hunan, Guizhou, Yunnan, and Gansu provinces.
The financial assistance will be utilised for crucial relief activities such as search and rescue operations, relocation and resettlement of affected populations, evacuation efforts, and the repair of damaged homes.
The MOF has urged local authorities to swiftly distribute the funds to affected areas, emphasising the importance of effective supervision and management of relief resources.
