Egypt’s stock exchange (EGX) closed in green on Sunday, with the main index, EGX30 surging by 2.72 per cent, to 29,532.67 points.
The Shariah index, EGX33 climbed by 2.94 to 2,847.14 points.
The small to mid-size enterprises’ index, EGX70 gained 2.33 per cent, to 6,653.93 points.
The index, EGX100 index added 2.53 per cent, to 9,572.03 points.
The total market capitalisation reached 2,032,436,165,680 Egyptian pounds.
Egyptians were net buyers with a total of 2,446,332,213 Egyptian pounds. Meanwhile, Arabs and non-Arab foreigners were net sellers with 220,592,908 Egyptian pounds, and 2,225,739,305 Egyptian pounds, respectively.
Top gainers
- Shares of El Arabia Engineering Industries (EEII.CA) soared by 11.21 per cent to close at the price of 1.290 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of ELSWEDY ELECTRIC (SWDY.CA) climbed by 11.01 per cent, to trade at the price of 62.410 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of TAQA Arabia (TAQA.CA) jumped by 8.72 per cent, to the purchasing price of 15.710 Egyptian pounds a share.
Top losers
- Shares of Rights Issue of Memphis Pharmaceuticals and Chemical Industries (MPCI.CA) dived by 3.45 per cent, to close at 17.090 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Prime Holding (PRMH.CA) slid 2.88 per cent, to close at 0.608 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Memphis Pharmaceuticals (MPCI.CA) shed 2.38 per cent, to close at the price of 34.010 Egyptian pounds a share.
