EGX ends mostly higher on Sept 4

Egypt’s stock exchange (EGX) closed mixed on Wednesday, with the main index, EGX30 falling by 0.07 per cent, to 30,998.19 points.

The Shariah index, EGX33, rose by 0.20 per cent, to 3,008.16 points.

The small to mid-size enterprises’ index, EGX70 went up by 0.24 per cent, to 7,228.16 points.

The index, EGX100 index added 0.14 per cent, to 10,330.2 points.

The total market capitalisation recorded 2,122,827,688,652 Egyptian pounds.

Arabs and non-Arab foreigners were net buyers with a total of 1,176,618,910 Egyptian pounds and 3,415,989,257 Egyptian pounds, respectively. Meanwhile, Egyptians were sellers with total of 4,592,608,167 Egyptian pounds.

Top risers

  1. Shares of Grand Investment Capital (GRCA.CA) rose by 19.92 per cent, to close at the price of 8.790 Egyptian pounds a share.
  2. Shares of Egyptian Arabian Company Themar for Securities Brokerage SAE (EASB.CA) climbed by 19.76 per cent, to trade at the price of 3.030 Egyptian pounds a share.
  3. Shares of Kafr El Zayat Pesticides (KZPC.CA)  jumped by 16.09 per cent, to the purchasing price of 11.110 Egyptian pounds a share.

Top fallers

  1. Shares of A Capital Holding (ACAP.CA) fell by 5.24 per cent, to close at 1.990 Egyptian pounds a share.
  2. Shares of Sinai Cement (SCEM.CA) declined by 5.15 per cent, to close at 34.250 Egyptian pounds a share.
  3. Shares of Gulf Canadian Real Estate Investment Co. (CCRS.CA) dropped by 4.96 per cent, to close at the price of 29.690 Egyptian pounds a share.
